Decatur Presbyterian Church of Decatur, AL » Alleluia! Alleluia! Christ is our risen Lord!

Open the prisons and ring out the bells! Join the ransomed and free in celebration for what He has done. Jesus, the Christ, sets you free! Jesus has set you free!  Amen!!!

It’s almost Easter!  I love this time of year! Spring is here, the days are brighter and longer, the flowers are blooming, the birds are singing. God’s glory is never more visible than in Springtime for us here on earth! Some day we will see him face to face! How glorious!

Prepare your hearts to worship richly with your DPC church family this Easter season! Here are our upcoming services which, by the Lord’s grace, will draw you nearer to Him during this blessed season.

Palm Sunday, March 24  Please join us this coming Sunday! Our children will especially bless us with a palm processional during the second service song of assembly! You will not want to be late! Please make every effort to be seated so that everyone can see and enjoy the children’s special offering.  If you attend the first service, perhaps you might consider staying for a few minutes to enjoy this special processional which will be at the very beginning of the second service! Please join us as we worship our King! Hosanna!

Good Friday, March 29  Please join us on Friday evening for a reflective service on what the Lord has done for us in sending His son to die in our place. This service is one of my favorites. The music is so rich and the words of Scripture really come alive when we corporately contemplate Christ’s enormous sacrifice on our behalf. By his stripes we are healed! Worthy is the Lamb!

EASTER Sunday, March 31  Please join us for a spectacular Easter celebration! Your DPC worship band will help lead us in some of your favorite Easter songs. Our DPC Worship Choir along with Soli Deo Gloria will sing a fanfare at the beginning of the service! Be prepared to go and tell the good news after hearing the anthem “Empty Grave!” Our pastors have prepared special liturgies and sermons for all three of these Holy Week services. We can’t wait to worship together! I see an empty grave!! Christ is risen!!
