Decatur Presbyterian Church of Decatur, AL » Who We Are

OUR VISION

A Community of Transforming Grace in the Historic Reformed Tradition.

OUR MISSION

Inviting everyone to love and follow the Lord Jesus.

CORE VALUES

WORSHIP

Reverent and Relevant

Worship is the heart and soul of the church; we are made for exalting Christ. We are intentional to invite everyone each Lord’s day to encounter the living Christ in a joyful, reverent, and accessible way, receiving all the blessings of his Gospel to the praise and glory of God.

COMMUNITY

Close-knit and Outward-facing

Community is the calling and culture of the church; we are made for life together. We are intentional to be God’s local and visible family, inviting all to join us in growing in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ, and loving one another through our shared experience of the Gospel.

DISCIPLESHIP

Robust and Transformational

Discipleship is the goal of the church; we are made for Christ-likeness. We are intentional to invite people to faith in Christ, to help each other grow in imitation of Christ, and to equip everyone to love and follow Christ in every aspect of life.

SERVICE

Compassionate and Bold

Service expresses the concern and impact of the church; we are made for embodying the Gospel. We are intentional to equip the body of Christ to love our neighbors, our city, and the world with the Gospel of grace in word and deed, evangelism and mercy, as the hands and feet of Jesus.

OUR HISTORY

Decatur Presbyterian Church began as an in-home Bible study in 1983. Just a few short years later the church was particularized, and in 1994 DPC moved to a new facility in its current location.
