We have resumed our worship services, but to maintain social distancing, we will have one service at 9:00 and another at 10:45. The 9:00 service requires masks. We can provide a mask if you don't have one. Masks are optional, but strongly encouraged, in the 10:45 service. To get more information, check your weekly email, email our office, or sign up for updates below. We are not providing childcare for either service yet. Entrance and exit will be directed by deacons so they remain safe and orderly. Both services will be livestreamed.

Tommy first heard the gospel of Jesus while growing up at Calvary Baptist Church, in Starkville, Mississippi, and was first discipled after being introduced to Reformed University Fellowship (RUF, the PCA's ministry to college campuses) at MSU.

In his free time Tommy enjoys relaxing with his family or with good friends or with a good book.

  • Rick Stark
    Associate Pastor

Rick is the Associate Pastor of Decatur Presbyterian Church. Prior to DPC, he was at Plains Presbyterian Church in Auburn, AL where he served both as it’s planting Pastor and Senior Pastor.

A native of Louisiana, Rick has a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration from Southeastern Louisiana University and a Master’s of Divinity from Reformed Theological Seminary. Prior to entering seminary, Rick and his wife Betsy served 20 years with Athletes in Action (a ministry of CRU), both in the U.S. and internationally.

Other than his family (father of four beautiful children), Rick’s passions include hunting, fishing, landscape and home renovations.

Rick’s life verse is Galatians 2:20 and his favorite quote from missionary Jim Elliott – “He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep to gain what he cannot lose.”

  • Nathan White
    Youth Ministry Director

Nathan was born and raised in Decatur, Alabama and served Decatur Presbyterian as the Pastoral Intern since January of 2017 before becoming the Youth Ministry Director in 2020. Nathan grew up in church, hearing the gospel from an early age. He is currently a student at Reformed Theological Seminary and is pursuing ordination in the PCA.

He married his wife, Rachael, who is also a Decatur native, in March of 2016.

Nathan is deeply thankful for the opportunity to love and serve both Christ and His people at DPC.

  • Stu Schieler
    Worship Director

Stu is originally from Ripon, WI., but he was raised in Miami, Florida. Music has always played an important role in his life and it allows him to worship God on a very personal level. For over 15 years Stu was very active in the music ministry of Old Cutler Presbyterian Church (PCA), and in his younger years Stu traveled to Latin America, Mexico, and Europe as a member of a musical mission team from that church.

Stu married his childhood sweetheart, Lory, and they have two children, Jessie and Tel, and they have been at DPC since August of 2010.

  • Tonya Roth
    Office Coordinator

Tonya joined the staff as the office administrator for Decatur Presbyterian Church in the Spring of 2013, and is most often the first voice you hear when contacting the church.

Tonya was born in California, but grew up in Florida and Tennessee. She has lived in Decatur for 34 years. She and her husband Michael have three adult children, Nicholas, Asher, & Heather, and two grandchildren, Jack & Harper. Tonya has a strong love for her Redeemer and Savior, Jesus Christ, and loves the DPC family and considers it a pleasure to serve the staff and congregation of DPC.

  • Erika Ladner
    Nursery Coordinator

Erika has been the nursery coordinator for DPC since Spring of 2013. She grew up in the Shoals area where she attended Covenant Christian School and went on to get a degree in Broadcast Journalism from The University of North Alabama. She worked in news for 4 years after she graduated college until she "retired" to stay home with her small children.

Erika had a wonderful Christian family, church and foundation growing up which helped point her to Christ at an early age. It wasn't until she was 13 that she realized how sinful she truly was and her desperate need for a Savior. That's when God changed her heart and made her new! She is now married to her college sweetheart, Jacob, and has two adorable children named Bennett and Hallie.

Erika loves serving the body of Christ through the nursery ministry and prays that every child leaves knowing that Jesus loves them most of all!
