Below you will find instructions on how to register for the 2025 Dominican Republic Short-Term Mission Trip.

TRIP DATES

June 3rd – June 10th,  2025

 

REGISTRATION DEADLINE

Sign up deadline is March 31,2025.  Participants will be included on a first come, first serve basis, limit ~25. Contact Carol if the deadline is a problem; I would love to work with you.

 

PRICE

New for 2025! We will be coordinating all flights for trip members traveling in and out of HSV with the DPC group.
Total Cost: $1,650 (estimated)

• Deposit (due March 31, 2025): $875 — Covers all in-country expenses.
• Second Payment (due June 1, 2025): $775 — Covers flight costs from Huntsville (HSV).

Due to possible flight fluctuations or unforeseen expenses, the final total may slightly exceed $1,650. If necessary, a final invoice will be issued after the trip to cover any additional costs.
*If you are NOT traveling with the team in and out of HSV, you will make your own flight arrangements. Please ONLY pay the first deposit.*

 

REGISTRATION

1. Fill out all appropriate questions and forms on this registration. 
2. If under 18 and traveling alone, make sure to download, complete, and return the consent form ASAP.
3. There are now two ways to pay your deposit for the trip. Both require you to register online (Ezra interns, please choose Cash/Check): 
   1. Cash/Check: Send a $825 check payable to “Decatur Presbyterian Church”, and in memo line indicate “your name” and “DR trip”. 
   2. Credit Card: Pay with your card within this online registration.

Make sure the registration payment is to DPC by the March 31 deadline. (If you cannot get the money to the church by that date, let’s talk. I’m very happy to work with you.) You may be interested in reviewing the sample fundraising letter. People have been incredibly successful raising funds in this way.

 

NOTES

1. Get your passport ASAP.  If you already have one, please make sure it has not expired, nor will it expire during your trip – very important!
2. If you are traveling with the DPC group out of Huntsville, we will purchase your flights. This will be the second half of your payment. 
3. If you are not traveling out of Huntsville, you must book your own air travel. I will be happy to assist you through the purchase, however, it is your responsibility to purchase your own plane ticket. Ensure your spot on the trip with me before purchasing. I will share what flight you must purchase. Please email me your flight itinerary once purchased. 
4. Read the packing list so you’ll know what to pack.  Especially note the shots suggested, the dress code, and the need for water bottles and bug spray.
5. Many insurance policies cover overseas medical needs, including med-flight. Check to see if yours does. If not, individual short-term insurance must be purchased for the week for a very modest price.
